Systems Support Officer

Adkins & Cheurfi are working on behalf of Cambridgeshire County Council who are looking for a Systems Support Officer to contribute to the effective running of the business support team; to deliver a high quality, customer focussed service responding to queries; To help maintain the ERP systems we support, to ensure that these meet statutory requirements and customer needs.

This System Support Officer will be remote working from the start of the placement, and then a few days a week at the Council’s new site at Alconbury Weald. The position has the possibility of being extended/ becoming permanent after the initial 13 week period.

The Systems Support Officer team provides operational level, functional and technical support to users of the various LGSS ERP platforms, including but not limited to ERP systems. The team are responsible for maintaining system integrity, availability and robustness, support and enhancement of the existing ERP systems and development of new functionality.

 

A suitable candidate will:

  • Act as first point of contact for LGSS systems in order to help system users perform their tasks more effectively, referring difficult problems to Support Analysts as appropriate
  • Perform daily housekeeping activities which support the business processes
  • Assist with managing the call list including monitoring calls logged via Lets Go Direct and direct to the team inbox
  • Work as an effective team member assisting and supporting colleagues across the service as appropriate to ensure accurate and timely service delivery
  • Utilise effective communication and a proactive approach to ensure collaborative working with colleagues across Business Systems, and wider LGSS department e.g. User Admin, Helpdesk

VMware Horizon View Administrator

Job Description: – L2 Level

 

  • Proficient in VMware Horizon View versions.
  • Install/Configure/Manage enterprise-level virtual environment based on VMware & Citrix platform
  • Install/Configure/Manage enterprise-level virtual environment using VMware ESXi 6.x
  • Implementation and Administration of Horizon View & Citrix components like Connection Servers, Security Servers, DDC Servers, Storefront Servers etc
  • Hands on experience on graphics VDI environment (vGPU with dedicated, shared)
  • User & GPU profile assignment & Re-assignment
  • Experience on Implementing policies within VDI environment using GPO
  • Hands on experience on provisioning of various types of desktop pools (Dynamic, Static, Floating etc)
  • Hands on experience on building VDIs and templates in accordance with standard OS images & mandatory tools/agents
  • Hands on experience on any HCI solution (e.g VXrail, Nutanix, HyperFlex, Simplivity etc). VXrail is preferred
  • Hands on experience on Virtualization, Cluster and Storage concepts
  • Hands on experience on VMware vSwitches & policy configurations (standard, distributed)
  • Hands on experience on configuring vLANs, vSwitches, Portgroups within vSphere environment
  • Good Understanding of enterprise level storage-SAN/NAS & storage protocols like NFS, iSCSI , FC etc
  • Good understanding of application virtualization and testing and publishing the applications
  • Should have good knowledge on VMware VSAN
  • Should have detailed understanding of all components of HCI (N/W, Storage, Sever, Hypervisor etc)
  • Experience in diagnostics performance related issues from all aspect of virtual infrastructure (VDI, VDI Core components, Slowness, GPU etc)
  • Perform daily health check of servers, VDIs & VDI core components
  • Remediation of reported vulnerabilities as per the guidelines
  • Good Understanding of Infrastructure components like Server Hardware, Network & Storage etc
  • Should be able to plan & execute various major activities like server & OS upgrades independently with minimum support
  • Should have experience in working with vendors to raise support tickets, follow up & ensure closure of tickets

 

Desired Candidate Profile:

 

  • 8-10 Years of proven experience with VMware Enterprise Products.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or a related discipline
  • Open with 24/7 shift and good communication skills.
  • Coming from a Strong Troubleshooting background.
