The Client has vacancies for their Residential and their Commercial department (or possibly a combined role).
The business is open to varying levels of Conveyancing experience and qualification and will also offer supervision, training & support, including secretarial support for the right candidate.
The Conveyancing fee earner will have experience in running a full caseload from start to end

The role offers slight flex on hours, the opportunity for some remote home working & free on-site parking.

The Conveyancing Assistant will be based at their Sunderland office.
Job Description – Conveyancing Assistant
Main Responsibilities
1. To be the main point of contact for clients in the absence of his/her Principal.
2. To build relationships with clients and internal and external contacts on behalf of the team.
3. To attend to clients/contacts in person and on the telephone and to provide such support in a professional and friendly manner in keeping with the Firm’s standards for client care.
4. To maintain relevant client information including rates, billing procedures and keeping the team members informed.
5. To request billing guides and draft bills and deal with interim billing as appropriate.
6. To arrange meetings, seminars etc where applicable and to take minutes.
7. To use initiative to prepare correspondence and legal documents using case management and to ensure a high quality of the documents, faxes and photocopies.
8. To progress case management within the limit of their ability as requested by their supervisor.
9. To open and close files.
10. To prepare mail and enclosures for despatch.
11. To maintain and update the filing systems.
12. To answer the telephones promptly, taking messages and following up where necessary in a pro-active manner.
13. Controlling the diaries, organising meetings, lunches, booking rooms etc.
14. Completing and submitting timesheets on time.
15. To use initiative to progress files within the limits of his/her own ability.
16. Occasional audio typing to cover absences or excessive workload when required.
